I’m Ihor Boldyrev, lead designer at EVA.

I built eva.ua’s design from zero. In 2019 the store had no design files; since then I have built its design system, its design team and its path to purchase, from the listing to the checkout.

Best employee of the year 2021, EVA e-commerce department for significantly improving the website’s usability.

How I work

Make the rules readable. eva.ua runs 33 promo mechanics. The new cart makes them clear before the checkout, so the checkout carries less.

Prove it in production. Changes go out as A/B tests where we can. The add‑to‑cart button moved to the side of the card after a test showed +4.1% conversion, and the new account brought +38% revenue per session in its A/B test.

Fix it once, in the system. I built EVA Library and connected it to the components our developers use. A change in Figma now reaches production in minutes instead of days.

I prototype in motion and 3D, in After Effects and Blender, and I know enough front end to talk to developers in their terms.

Freelance

As a freelancer I worked with product teams in crypto: a wallet and an exchange.

  1. Oisy Wallet A crypto wallet for desktop and mobile.
  2. Sonic A decentralized exchange: the swap, from choosing a token to done.

Freelance, with the product teams.

After hours

Outside EVA, I design, code and print my own things.

About

Ihor Boldyrev

I lead design for eva.ua’s path to purchase: the listing, the cart, the checkout, the customer account, and the promotions around them. When I joined in 2019, the online store had no design files, not even for search, and it went down when more than 500 people came at once. I built its design system from scratch, set up the way design works there, and hired the design team. I have worked on it since 2019, through a move to a new back end and the arrival of a marketplace with hundreds of sellers.

My job is to turn the business’s rules into choices a customer understands at a glance. I set priorities with product and analytics, review every flow before it ships, and check what developers build against the design.

I work with EVA’s product, analytics, development and marketing teams, and on joint promotions with partner banks. As a freelancer I have worked with product teams in crypto, on a wallet and an exchange. I model and animate in Blender and After Effects, so a flow can be shown moving before it is built. After hours I write code, 3D-print and build with AI.

Next, I want to lead design for a product with complex flows and a team to grow, where every change answers to numbers.
